"14. Service for the purpose of Pension or Gratuity under these Regulations must in normal circumstances be continuous. A break of 3 years or more will, in any case, cancel all previous Service.
"15. If a Member of the Force is injured in the actual discharge of his Duty, without his own default, and by some injury specifically attributable to the nature of his Duty, the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty may grant to him, or, if he dies, to his widow, his mother if wholly dependent on him at the time of his death, and to his children, or to any of them, such Gratuity or annual Allowance as, after consultation with the Lords Commissioners of His Majesty's Treasury, may to them appear reasonable, but not exceeding the amount of the Gratuity or annual Allowance awardable to a Civil Servant under any Warrant framed under Section 1 of the Superannuation Act, 1887, and for the time being in force,

16. In the event of any question arising on the interpretation or adminis- tration of these Regulations the decision of the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty thereon shall be final.
"17. These Regulations shall have effect from the 26th day of June, 1914.”
HIS MAJESTY, having taken the said Memorial into con- sideration, was pleased, by and with the advice of His Privy Council, to approve of what is therein proposed. And the Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty are to give the necessary directions herein accordingly.
